Scientific interests
I specialize in research on mineralogical and geochemical indicators of contemporary shelf, coastal, and river sediments associated with sedimentary processes and geohazards. In my studies, I utilize the diversity of phenomena and areas, including shelf sediments (South China Sea, Wadden Sea, Baltic Sea), river deltas and estuaries (Mekong, Vistula, Ems), the fjord of Spitsbergen, and tsunami-affected sediments (coasts of the Andaman Sea, Japan, southern Portugal). I employ the analysis of heavy minerals, clay minerals, and sediment geochemistry as indicators for recognizing event sediments.
My research interests also extend to climate change in the context of necessary energy transformations, the economy of conventional fuel deposits, reservoir rock properties, and sedimentary rock petrology.
