Scientific interests

I studied Marine Biology and Oceanography (Bangor University, UK) before branching into Marine Geology for my PhD (University of Alberta, Canada). My research focuses on polar regions of both hemispheres, employing micropaleontology and biogeochemistry. My interests include studying environmental and climatic response of marine polar regions to global change, past and present, the effect of connection and severance of oceanic gateways on polar environments and ecosystems, fidelity and appropriate use of paleoenvironmental and paleoceanographic proxies, and marine radiocarbon chronologies.
